3. Most Effective Way For a Ruler to Maintain Order

I think that the most effective way for a ruler to maintain order is for the ruler himself to set a good example. By doing this the people will have no reason not follow the ruler. If the ruler would disobey the law, the people of the city wouldn't follow them either. I think that this is the simplest method but not always the easiest. Another method that may have worked would be to have laws. Not just to have laws but to have punishments for disobeying the laws and the same punishment to everyone not just according to the social pyramid.

  1. Dear Boris,

You have a clear topic sentence. I understood what your paragraph was going to be about. You stay on topic through out the first 3 sentences. After that you go off on something that wasn't in your topic sentence. I think that having laws is a good idea but that wasn't in your topic sentences and was kind of out of the blue. I like what you said about having the same punishment to everyone equally. Overall you had a lot of good ideas but your paragraph didn't always relate to your topic sentence. You also did have any examples of rulers that have done this.

  2. Good topic sentence, but you need more specific examples to support your argument. You also could have given a stonger explanation for WHY a ruler should have laws and punishments.
